SLEEPWALK is a romantic mystery set in the south west of England
in the late eighties. It is a story of relationships and things that go bump in
the night.... literally. Perhaps it should be called SLEEPDRIVE.........

The idea was good, but the dialog was stiff. It was hard to follow often because there were no paragraph indentations. This made it confusing as to who was talking. There should also have been an indication that the scene had changed. There was nothing. We read a sentence and with no warning the next sentence was in a different location with different people. Then my biggest problem.....Joe's diagnosis of Parkinson's disease instead of Alzheimer's disease. In my experience, his mental confusion as a first symptom follows Alzheimer's instead of Parkinson's. Picky? Perhaps, but it made me want to scream.Product details

Sleepwalk edition by Ros Seddon Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
I loved the fast pace of the story and the background setting of the story covering so many different relevant subjects and issues while all the time setting us up for a real traditional but still gripping 'who done it'! Well done to the author I'll be looking forward to your next efforts with real interest.
The idea for this story was good. Ellie sleep walks and has no memory of what she gets up to during the nights she sleepwalks. A series of hit and run deaths seem to point at Ellie being responsible. David is Ellie's estranged husband and father to Ollie who he brings up alone to protect him from Ellie's behaviour. Felicity bumps into David (literally) and a relationship begins. Then someone starts trying to kill Felicity and again, all roads lead to Ellie.
So, a great premise for a thriller. But the book was let down badly by the writing style and the editing (or complate lack of). It read like a teenager had penned it, the dialogue not very sophisticated at all. And sometimes the scene changed completely, so that half way through, with no benefit of a new paragraph, we are taken from one location and one conversation to another with no break. It made for confusing reading sometimes and didn't help with the flow of the story.
This is a promising story, and it won't put me off trying another by this author, but not until she gets a decent editor and her writing evolves from the classroom.
